Interior design trends shift toward colorful dopamine decor

Interior design trends are shifting toward personal expression and emotional connection, a movement often referred to as ‘dopamine decor’. This trend emphasizes the use of vibrant colors, diverse textures, and playful objects that evoke joy rather than strictly adhering to neutral or minimalist aesthetics.

Data from Pinterest indicates a growing interest in these styles, with a 50 percent increase in searches for aesthetics inspired by gummy candy textures and three-dimensional elements. This shift suggests that younger generations are prioritizing spaces that feel tactile and characterful over those designed solely for visual neatness.

In support of these evolving tastes, the company JUB, in collaboration with architect Nina Štajner, has introduced five distinct design styles. Each style features a curated selection of six shades from the JUB Home of Colours palette, ranging from minimalist and modern to retro 1970s and rustic classics. The initiative aims to provide inspiration for home renovations by demonstrating how color combinations can define the atmosphere of a living space.
