Interior design trends shift toward maximalism and personalized bedroom decor

Interior design trends for 2027 are expected to shift toward maximalism, moving away from minimalist, neutral aesthetics. Experts suggest that consumers are increasingly seeking characterful spaces that reflect personal style through bold textures, artwork, and statement furniture, such as canopy beds and oversized headboards.

In contrast to the trend toward maximalism, designers also emphasize the importance of creating relaxing environments through specific sensory elements. Key recommendations for a restful bedroom include using warm, soft color palettes—such as sage green, smoky blues, or pinky beiges—to avoid a clinical feel, and implementing layered lighting to enhance the sense of comfort.
