Intermezzo raises $10M for AI-native global payroll platform

Intermezzo, a global payroll infrastructure company, has raised $10 million in funding to develop an AI-native platform designed to automate international payroll processes. The funding round included participation from Crosslink Capital, UKG Ventures, CloudPay, Character Capital, Behind Genius Ventures, and various angel investors.

Founded by former Intuit leaders, the company aims to address the complexities of cross-border payroll, which currently relies heavily on manual coordination, spreadsheets, and fragmented networks of local providers. The platform seeks to reduce the administrative burden on Human Capital Management (HCM) platforms by automating tax rules, statutory deductions, and reporting requirements. According to the company, the goal is to improve accuracy and significantly reduce the time required for international payroll processing.
