Intermountain Health reveals Salt Lake City hospital plans

Intermountain Health has released new details regarding its planned hospital replacement near downtown Salt Lake City. The project, located at the former Sears site near 754 S. State, will feature a primary building reaching approximately 208 feet in height, surrounded by several shorter structures.

The facility is designed to include over 1,200 parking stalls across two garages, an outdoor plaza, gardens, and a dedicated area for food trucks. The hospital is intended to operate 24/7 with a helipad, while outpatient services will follow standard business hours. Intermountain Health is seeking LEED Silver certification for the project and estimates a daily water requirement of nearly 150,000 gallons.
