Internacional defeats Botafogo 3-0 to exit relegation zone
Internacional secured a decisive 3-0 victory against Botafogo at the Beira-Rio stadium during the 32nd round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. Goals from Matheus Bahia, Juninho, and Bernabei propelled the Porto Alegre-based club to 35 points, moving them temporarily out of the relegation zone.
The match was played under heavy rain, which impacted field conditions. Despite the difficult pitch, Internacional utilized a direct style of play to dominate the encounter. Botafogo, led by coach Tite, remains in 11th place with 39 points but faces growing scrutiny following their third defeat in five matches under his management.
Internacional's coach, Eduardo Baptista, praised striker Alerrandro for his unselfish play, noting that the player prioritized the team by assisting Bernabei rather than seeking a personal goal. Looking ahead, Internacional is scheduled to face Fluminense at the Maracanã, while Botafogo will play Remo in Pará.
