Corinthians dismiss Fernando Diniz after seventh consecutive defeat

Corinthians has dismissed head coach Fernando Diniz following a 2-1 defeat against Internacional in the 29th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro. The loss marked the team's seventh consecutive defeat in the league, leaving the club in 16th place, just one point above the relegation zone.

Diniz leaves the club after 33 official matches, recording 13 wins, eight draws, and 12 losses, with an approximate 47.5% success rate. Following the dismissal, the club announced that his entire technical staff would also depart. In the interim, William Batista, the U-20 coach, is expected to lead the team for the upcoming derby against Palmeiras.

The club is currently evaluating potential replacements. Argentine manager Ramón Díaz is considered a favorite due to his previous successful tenure with the club, while Fábio Carille and Jorge Sampaoli are also being considered.

Meanwhile, Internacional's victory in their match marks a positive turn for the club under new coach Eduardo Baptista, moving them to 17th place and providing breathing room in the fight against relegation.
