Internacional dismisses Paulo Pezzolano amid relegation threat

Internacional has dismissed head coach Paulo Pezzolano following a string of poor results, including a ten-match winless streak in the Brasileirão and elimination from the Copa do Brasil. Pezzolano leaves the club in 18th place, within the relegation zone, after managing 46 matches with an 47.8% success rate.

Assistant coach Pablo Fernández has been appointed to lead training sessions on an interim basis during the FIFA international break. The club's management is actively seeking a permanent replacement to avoid relegation to the second division.

Negotiations are reportedly advanced with Eduardo Baptista, currently coaching Criciúma, who could be announced as the new manager following a potential agreement. Other names previously considered or discussed include Luis Zubeldía, Maurício Barbieri, Jair Ventura, and Diego Aguirre, though several have declined the offer or remain under contract with other clubs.
