Internacional faces protests and administrative crisis amid relegation threat

Sport Club Internacional is facing a severe institutional and sporting crisis. Currently in the relegation zone of the Campeonato Brasileiro, the club is struggling with poor on-field performance, including a recent 3-2 loss to Santos. This has triggered intense protests from organized fan groups at the club's training center and stadium, with supporters demanding the resignation of president Alessandro Barcellos and the dismissal of coach Paulo Pezzolano.

Off the pitch, the club is embroiled in administrative tension. The Fiscal Council has demanded transparency regarding R$ 2.4 million in corporate card expenditures. President Barcellos has also reportedly threatened legal action against a journalist following reports on these expenses.

In an attempt to stabilize the situation, Barcellos held an urgent meeting with political opponents and potential presidential candidates to discuss the club's financial state and the final rounds of the championship. While Pezzolano remains in his position for now, the club is reportedly considering names like Lisca as potential replacements should the current coaching staff be dismissed.
