International Alliance to Combat Telecommunications Fraud established in China
The International Alliance to Combat Telecommunications Fraud was officially established on September 10 in Lianyungang, China. The alliance includes 46 founding nations and 34 observer nations. Representatives from several countries, including Vietnam, Laos, Kenya, Cambodia, Pakistan, and Russia, participated in the inaugural conference. International organizations such as the United Nations and Interpol were also represented.
Participants signed a joint declaration recognizing telecommunications fraud as a global menace. The alliance is designed to be a specialized, action-oriented body that enhances international cooperation. During the event, Vietnamese Minister of Public Security Lương Tam Quang advocated for a shift in strategy from reactive response to proactive prevention, emphasizing the importance of joint investigations into transnational criminal networks.
