Ottakringer Brewery sets 600‑glass world record on Beer Day

On the International Beer Day celebrated on 7 August, the Ottakringer Brewery in Vienna attempted a world‑record pour of more than 600 glasses of beer at the same time. The event took place on 1 August in the 16th district of Vienna, with free entry after prior registration. Participants received a commemorative glass, a voucher for the Ottakringer Beer Festival and a participation certificate.

The record attempt was part of the Ottakringer Beer Festival, which runs from 2 July to 4 September 2026 and features over 20 beer specialties, live music, bieryoga, pub quizzes and brewery tours. International Beer Day, founded in 2007 by Jesse Avshalomov in the United States, is observed on the first Friday of August to celebrate beer culture worldwide.
