International book fairs held in Cuba and Uruguay

International book fairs are being held in Granma, Cuba, and San José, Uruguay, celebrating literature and cultural expression.

In Granma, the 34th International Book Fair featured literary presentations, conferences, and workshops. The event included a specialized area for the sale of rare and valuable books, as well as restoration workshops led by young creators. Various cultural institutions collaborated to provide diverse programming, including children's activities and artistic performances.

In San José, the 19th International Fair for the Promotion of Reading and the Book opened at the Teatro Macció under the theme ‘The power of the word, the echo of what we are’. Officials, including the Minister of Education and Culture and the acting Vice President, emphasized the role of books as tools for social connection and education. The event featured Spanish writer and journalist Rosa Montero.
