Dominican Chocolate Festival celebrates sixth edition in Santo Domingo

The sixth edition of the Dominican Chocolate Festival is being held at Ágora Santo Domingo, featuring more than 18 local chocolate brands. The event includes tastings, cooking shows, and educational activities designed to showcase the various stages of chocolate production.

During the festival, the Dominican Association of Chocolatiers (ADOCHOCO) emphasized the need for increased industrialization of the nation's cacao. The goal is to strengthen the value chain by exporting finished chocolate products rather than relying solely on the sale of raw cacao, which already enjoys international recognition for its quality.

The event is organized by the Dominican Environmental Consortium and the International Trade Center, with funding from the European Union and support from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and MSMEs (MICM).
