International competitors win major Italian-themed culinary contests

In recent culinary and coffee competitions, international participants have achieved notable victories in events held in or involving Italian traditions.

In Panama City, Federico Pinna, the head barista of Urban Café in Treviglio, is representing Italy at the World Barista Championship. As the reigning Italian national champion, Pinna is supported by Team Bugan in his pursuit of the title at this prestigious specialty coffee competition.

Meanwhile, at the tenth edition of the Tiramisu World Cup held in Treviso, Italy, Brazilian beekeeper Marcos Muzzi won the ‘Original Recipe’ category. Muzzi outperformed numerous competitors by strictly adhering to the traditional ingredients and techniques of the iconic Italian dessert, highlighting the global reach of the dish.
