International conference in Novi Sad addresses interculturality in education
The 12th International Scientific Conference, titled ‘Interculturality in Education – Interkult 2026’, was held at the Petőfi Sándor Hungarian Cultural Center in Novi Sad. The event brought together approximately 70 experts from seven different countries.
János Puskás, Director of the Pedagogical Institute of Vojvodina, opened the conference by emphasizing that true interculturality involves comprehensive, mutual exchange and dialogue between cultures rather than merely living side-by-side. He noted that schools are the most suitable environments for teaching coexistence, as national communities in multicultural societies are interdependent.
The presentations covered a wide range of topics, from culture and literature to the use of artificial intelligence in the 21st-century classroom. The conference was organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Novi Sad, with lectures delivered in Serbian, Hungarian, Rusyn, Romanian, Slovak, Croatian, and English.
