International Dance League launches Seoul Series with top global crews

The International Dance League (IDL) is holding its Seoul Series on 1 August at Kyung Hee University's Grand Peace Palace in South Korea. The event is the fourth stop of the league's inaugural season, following New York, Vancouver and Sydney, and features six elite crews: Korea’s 1Million, New Zealand’s Royal Family, Canada’s Brotherhood, the Los Angeles‑based GRV, Norway’s Quick Style and Singapore’s Jam Republic SEA. IDL aims to turn dance into a professional sport with a season‑long format where teams earn points toward a championship. Co‑founder and CEO Connor Lim said Korea’s influence on the global dance scene made Seoul an obvious choice, noting the country’s role in producing internationally influential choreographers. Several crews have strong ties to K‑pop, with GRV’s Nick Joseph and Brotherhood’s Scott Forsyth having choreographed for BTS and other Korean acts. The league’s director of content highlighted Seoul as “an absolute central place for dance in the world.”
