International Film Festival of India prepares for 57th edition in Goa
The first Steering Committee meeting for the 57th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) was held in New Delhi on August 21, 2026. Chaired by Minister of State for Information & Broadcasting Dr. L. Murugan, the meeting focused on enhancing the festival’s international profile and supporting emerging talent.
The 57th edition of IFFI is scheduled to take place in Goa from November 20 to 28, 2026. Dr. Murugan emphasized a vision to provide a platform for young students, emerging filmmakers, and lesser-known creative professionals to showcase their work and connect with the global film community.
Key initiatives discussed include expanding masterclasses, mentorship programs, and structured interactions with established filmmakers. The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting is also working to boost India’s ‘Orange Economy’ by strengthening creative industries and fostering international collaboration and professional exchange.
