International Film Festival of Kashmir opens in Srinagar

The 6th edition of the International Film Festival of Kashmir has commenced at Tagore Hall in Srinagar. The two-day event features approximately 28 films from 24 different countries, including several local Kashmiri productions.

The festival aims to foster a vibrant film culture in the valley and engage younger audiences through a diverse lineup of subjects and documentaries that highlight the challenges faced by ordinary people. Local filmmakers and artists, including Ali Emran and Tahir Najar, noted the importance of such platforms for providing opportunities to new filmmakers and encouraging innovative ideas. Actor Hassan Javaid also attended, emphasizing the necessity of funding to elevate the festival's impact.
