International Game Fish Association launches digital archive and expands park partnerships

The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) has launched the E. K. Harry Digital Archive, a multi-year project to digitize and preserve the holdings of the E. K. Harry Library of Fishes. This initiative aims to make millions of unique assets—including expedition scrapbooks, historic photographs, world record documents, and rare films—searchable on a digital platform. The library, established in 1973, serves as a global repository for sportfishing history.

Additionally, the IGFA continues its long-term collaboration with the National Park Service (NPS) and the National Park Foundation to promote recreational fishing. Through the ‘Junior Ranger: Let’s Go Fishing!’ initiative, the IGFA has supported 35 NPS sites, providing toolkits and training to reach over 27,200 Junior Ranger Anglers. The program focuses on connecting youth and families to public lands through ethical angling practices and educational resources.
