International Health Business School launches in Guimarães

The International Health Business School (IHBS) has been launched in Guimarães, Portugal, as the country’s first business school dedicated exclusively to the healthcare sector. Promoted by CESPU, the institution aims to train executives, managers, and leaders to address modern challenges in health system management and transformation.

The school will operate with an international presence, establishing hubs in São Paulo, Brazil, and Luanda, Angola, through partnerships with Universidade São Leopoldo Mandic and the Instituto Politécnico de Benguela. The project is part of the University Alliance for Development and Innovation in Health (AUDIS), which connects CESPU with the Unidade Local de Saúde do Alto Ave.

Academic offerings, scheduled to begin in early 2027, include MBAs in Health Management and Agribusiness, as well as executive masters in areas such as Global Health Diplomacy, Digital Health, and Value-Based Healthcare. The curriculum will also cover specialized topics like Artificial Intelligence governance in healthcare and strategic leadership. The school’s international advisory board includes former health ministers Adalberto Campos Fernandes from Portugal and Luís Gomes Sambo from Angola.
