International Islamic Thought Forum convenes in Cairo

The ninth International Islamic Thought Forum convened at the Al-Imam Al-Hussein Mosque in Cairo, attended by Egypt's Minister of Endowments and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Dr. Osama al-Azhari. The event featured participation from over 100 scholars and officials representing more than 50 countries, many joining via video conference.

Dr. al-Azhari described the forum as a platform to bridge distances and psychological barriers among the global Muslim community, fostering cooperation and the exchange of expertise. The forum aims to promote scientific values, ethics, and the objectives of Sharia while addressing issues of division, ignorance, and stagnation.

During his address, the Minister emphasized the importance of presenting a positive image of Islam through conduct and ethics. He cited historical Islamic jurisprudence as a model for treating non-Muslims with mercy, justice, and kindness, noting that differences in belief should not prevent compassion and the upholding of human dignity.
