International Jerusalem Foundation moves operations to Turkey

The International Jerusalem Foundation has announced that it will relocate its operations to Istanbul, Turkey. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ağırakça, Chairman of the Board, stated that the decision follows the inability to continue activities in Beirut due to the conflict that began on February 28.

In conjunction with this announcement, a Jerusalem Commemoration Program was held during the 11th International Istanbul Arabic Book Fair. The foundation's General Manager, Yasin Hammoud, released a report warning of high-level threats to Al-Aqsa Mosque, specifically citing the potential for physical division through the control of its eastern courtyards.

Separately, reports indicate that Israeli media outlet i24News has highlighted the activities of various Turkish institutions in Jerusalem. The coverage targeted organizations such as TİKA and the Yunus Emre Institute, as well as social and educational programs for youth. The reporting characterized these humanitarian and cultural efforts, including the maintenance of historical Ottoman-era sites like the Haseki Sultan Imaret, as part of an expansion of Turkish influence in the region.
