International Maritime Industries and Lamprell sign offshore manufacturing deal

International Maritime Industries (IMI) and Lamprell have signed an agreement to manufacture various offshore structural systems, including production platforms and jackets. The manufacturing will take place at the IMI industrial complex in Ras Al-Khair, Saudi Arabia.

The agreement is part of an integrated offshore Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation (EPCI) project managed by Lamprell. This marks the first time that production platforms and jackets will be manufactured at the Ras Al-Khair facility.

IMI CEO Abdullah Al-Ghamdi stated that the deal expands the company's scope beyond shipbuilding and offshore rig maintenance into the manufacturing of offshore structural systems. Lamprell CEO Ian Prescott noted that the collaboration leverages Lamprell's EPCI expertise while supporting the development of industrial capabilities and knowledge transfer within the Kingdom.
