International Medis Awards opens research applications

The 13th International Medis Awards for Medical Research is now accepting applications. This international award recognizes outstanding scientific research achievements by doctors and pharmacists across Central and Eastern Europe.

Applications are open until October 31, 2026, for researchers active in clinical practice across nine medical fields, including dermatology, pharmacy, gynecology, intensive care, neurology, ophthalmology, pediatrics, pulmonology, and rheumatology. Eligible participants include medical professionals from Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, Montenegro, Croatia, Hungary, North Macedonia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Serbia.

Winners will be announced at a formal ceremony in March 2027. Professor Janja Ocvirk, president of the International Expert Commission, emphasized that clinical research directly impacts patient lives by transforming scientific knowledge into improved diagnostics and more effective treatments.
