International Music Day celebrated with concerts and book launch

International Music Day is being observed through various cultural events in Romania and Moldova. In Ploiești, the ‘Paul Constantinescu’ Philharmonic is hosting a symphonic concert featuring works by Robert Schumann and Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. The program, conducted by Mircea Pădurariu with pianist Mihaela Manea, highlights the musical friendship between the two Romantic-era composers.

In Chișinău, the Academy of Sciences of Moldova marked the occasion with the launch of the book ‘George Enescu in Bessarabia’ by Aurelian Dănilă. The publication commemorates the 145th anniversary of the Romanian composer's birth and explores his historical presence in the region, where he performed over 40 concerts. The event included performances of Enescu’s ‘Ballade’ by students from the Academy of Music.
