International Olympiad in Informatics 2026 concludes in Uzbekistan

The 38th International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI 2026) concluded in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, featuring nearly 400 contestants from over 90 countries. The competition tested students' abilities in algorithm design, data structures, and programming implementation.

China's national team secured first place in the team rankings, earning three gold medals and one silver medal. Notable individual performers included Xu Qiwen, Zhao Shenghao, Liu Jiawei, and He Yuxiang. Notably, Liu Jiawei from Chongqing achieved the first IOI gold medal in the history of Chongqing.

Taiwan's delegation earned one gold, two silver, and one honorable mention, ranking 8th globally based on gold medal count. Li Bo-ting, a student from Tainan First Senior High School, achieved the highest individual ranking for the team at 8th place worldwide.

Japan's representatives achieved a full medal sweep, with all four participating students winning awards. The Japanese team earned two gold medals, one silver, and one bronze, with gold medalists Yuya Hirasawa and Rei Karashima ranking 4th and 15th respectively in the overall standings.
