International Padel Federation reports massive global growth
The International Padel Federation (FIP) has released its World Padel Report 2026, highlighting significant global growth in the sport. Currently, approximately 40 million people play padel worldwide, with 27 million playing regularly. The report notes that a new court is constructed every 36 minutes, totaling over 91,000 courts globally. The sport is now played in 191 countries and territories.
A major shift in the sport's geography is occurring as Asia becomes a primary driver of expansion. Two out of every five new clubs are being opened in Asia, with Indonesia emerging as a key market by adding 769 clubs and over 2,500 courts this year.
During its 36th General Assembly held in Madrid, the FIP also announced the incorporation of 15 new member federations, including Afghanistan, Angola, Colombia, Peru, and Singapore, bringing the total number of member federations to 115. The assembly also marked the 35th anniversary of the organization's founding.
