International sanctions against Israel reach 121 measures in 62 countries
The Jerusalem Policy Institute (JPPI) has released a new database documenting 121 restrictive measures imposed on Israel across 62 countries. The data includes 93 active measures, 19 historical actions, and nine proposed or planned measures, indicating expanding international pressure across financial, commercial, security, and diplomatic sectors.
Financial measures constitute the largest group with 40 recorded actions, followed by security and defense (24) and trade (24). Other categories include 14 diplomatic and 12 legal measures. Spain has recorded the highest number of actions with ten, followed by the United States with eight, the United Kingdom with seven, and both Belgium and Turkey with five.
Shuki Friedman, Director General of the JPPI, warned that while many measures currently target specific individuals or settlement products, their accumulation could eventually impact banks, companies, investors, and commercial partners. While the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs has questioned the accuracy of the data, political sources acknowledged that specific sanctions are being addressed and warned that the current lack of substantial sanctions does not guarantee future stability.
