International Sculpture Symposium held in Kaunas

Twenty Lithuanian and international artists are participating in the International Sculpture Symposium in Kaunas. Working at the ‘Garliavos granito’ site on Vytauto g. 2B, the sculptors are creating works inspired by the Kaunas modernism recognized by UNESCO.

Visitors can observe the creative process live on weekdays from September 2 until September 11, between 16:00 and 18:00. The event offers the public a chance to see how massive granite blocks are transformed into art, learn about stone-working techniques, and interact with the artists. Kaunas Mayor Visvaldas Matijošaitis noted that the symposium represents a high qualitative standard for the city, aiming to bring professional art directly to the public rather than keeping it confined to galleries.
