International System Research launches passwordless authentication services

International System Research (ISR) has announced new initiatives to promote passwordless authentication and combat rising cyber threats in Japan. The company is launching ‘CloudGate SKaaS’, a subscription service designed to support the implementation and management of various security keys. This service initially integrates with Yubico’s ‘YubiKey as a Service’ (YaaS) platform, allowing enterprises to deploy physical security keys like YubiKey through a flexible subscription model.

To address the difficulty many IT departments face when explaining the benefits of new authentication methods to employees, ISR has also released the ‘CloudGate UNO Experience Tour’. This public online demo allows users to intuitively experience FIDO2-based passkey authentication, single sign-on (SSO) behavior, and multi-factor authentication via smartphone apps within a simulated environment.

These developments come amid increasing reports of sophisticated phishing attacks and ransomware in Japan. ISR aims to lower the barrier for companies transitioning from traditional passwords to more secure, phishing-resistant authentication infrastructures.
