International train IRN 461 halted on Giurgiu-Ruse bridge
The international train IRN 461 ‘Romania’, which operates on the route connecting Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey, has been temporarily halted on the Giurgiu-Ruse railway bridge. The stoppage occurred on Sunday, September 20, after the train departed from the Giurgiu Nord station at 13:27.
The disruption was caused by a technical problem with the locomotive. Although the train had already crossed the border, it was stopped on the Bulgarian section of the bridge. A maintenance team is required to inspect and repair the locomotive before travel can resume.
CFR SA is monitoring the situation through operational information provided by Bulgarian authorities. While the duration of the repair and the resulting delay are currently unknown, there have been no reported issues regarding the safety of the passengers on board.
