International Youth Anti‑Fascist Camp in Austria Draws 900 Participants from 18 Countries

Around 900 young people from 18 nations gathered in Austria for the 29th International Anti‑Fascist, Anti‑Imperialist Youth Camp. The event was opened by representatives of the International Youth Union (IJV) and DIDF Youth, with speakers Roylan and Hugo welcoming the participants and stressing the importance of global solidarity over division.

Speakers highlighted recent challenges facing youth, including compulsory military service, protests in support of Gaza, and conflicts in the Middle East. They framed the camp as a platform to plan ten days of coordinated action and to strengthen cross‑border networks that resist oppression and promote collective resistance.

The camp featured multilingual interactions, shared meals, and a panel titled “The State of Youth Worldwide and Its Struggles,” where delegates from Brazil, Turkey and Germany voiced concerns about war, poverty and repression, underscoring the event’s international character.
