International Youth Writing Contests Launch in Chile and Ireland

Grupo Cetep Cultura in Chile announced a new edition of its International Short Story Contest focused on "Mental Health in Children and Youth." The competition invites participants of any age from any country to submit stories of up to 100 words that depict how young people cope with emotions, relationships and daily challenges. Submissions are open until 31 July 2026, and finalists may be featured in future publications and cultural exhibitions. Claudia Barrera, CEO and Founder of Grupo Cetep, said the initiative aims to foster reflection and reduce stigma around emotional wellbeing.

In Ireland, the Anubmitos contest opened for students aged 10 to 15, running until 7 August. Teams of up to four pupils, guided by a teacher, are asked to write stories inspired by myths, legends or everyday experiences, addressing topics such as bullying, family ties and school life. The competition seeks to stimulate creativity and personal expression, with past winners having their stories adapted into animated episodes. Both contests welcome entries from Chile, Ireland and other nations, highlighting a growing global interest in youth literary expression.
