Internet gray zones exploit users through deceptive practices

Internet users are increasingly facing a “gray zone” of deceptive websites that operate on the edge of legality. Unlike traditional phishing attacks, these platforms often use legitimate-looking designs and secure connections to mask predatory practices.

Common tactics include subscription aggregators that offer low initial costs before applying exorbitant renewal fees, and dubious online stores that sell low-quality goods or empty packages while harvesting personal data. Other methods involve fraudulent investment and cryptocurrency platforms that promise unrealistic returns and demand fees to withdraw funds, as well as intermediary services that charge excessive amounts for official documentation that can be obtained for free.
