Internet Newspaper Ethics Committee hosts youth media forum

The Internet Newspaper Ethics Committee, in collaboration with National Assembly member Jeon Jin-sook’s office and the Korea Foundation for Suicide Prevention, held the ‘2026 Life Respect Youth Media Forum’ on October 31 at the National Assembly Member's Hall.

The forum aimed to help young journalists and university students understand the importance of suicide prevention and promote a culture of life respect through responsible reporting and content creation. Participants, including members of the INEC university student supporters, discussed ways to implement these values within the evolving digital media landscape, including YouTube and social media.

Key speakers included Professor Yoo Hyun-jae of Sogang University, who discussed the ‘Suicide Prevention Reporting Guidelines 4.0’, and Professor Lee Yeon-jung of Soonchunhyang University Seoul Hospital, who addressed mental health management for university students. National Assembly member Jeon Jin-sook expressed intent to strengthen policy support for youth mental health, while Committee Chairman Lee Jae-jin emphasized that life respect should be a fundamental principle in all media content production.
