Internet outage disrupts services across the Czech Republic
A widespread internet outage has affected users across the Czech Republic, impacting mobile and fixed-line connections, banking services, e-shops, and social media platforms including X. Reports of the disruption began around 9:00 AM, with thousands of complaints filed by customers of the operator O2, particularly in major cities like Prague and Brno.
While some reports suggest the issue might stem from Microsoft hosting services due to the wide variety of affected services, O2 has attributed the connectivity problems to network damage caused by excavation work. Users have reported that while some websites remain accessible, many others fail to load, suggesting potential issues with DNS or network routing. O2 stated they are working intensively to restore full capacity.
