Internet privacy and social media usage trends in Poland

Recent data from CBOS indicates that 82 percent of Polish adults use the internet regularly, with 60 percent maintaining social media accounts. Among those aged 18–24, social media usage reaches 97 percent.

While more than three-fifths of users claim they never post private life materials on social media, experts warn against impulsive sharing driven by strong emotions such as anger or joy. Karolina Praszek-Gołębiewska, a lawyer specializing in personal data protection and initiator of the Safe Relations Campaign, notes that while emotions fade, digital publications and screenshots can remain online for years.

Concerns regarding digital privacy include the sharing of children's photos, private conversations, and real-time location data. Experts emphasize that deleting a post does not guarantee the content has disappeared from the internet.
