Internet service provider complaints reach four-year high
Complaints against internet service providers reached a four-year high during the first seven months of 2026. According to data from the consumer complaint platform Şikayetvar, 78,610 complaints were recorded during this period, representing a 16% increase compared to the 67,642 complaints filed in the same period of 2025. This figure marks a roughly 58% increase compared to the 49,864 complaints recorded in 2023.
Monthly data shows a significant spike in July, where complaints rose by 36% from 10,656 in June to 14,498 in July, making it the highest monthly total of the year. Weekly data also indicated an upward trend, with 3,448 complaints recorded in the 31st week of 2026, an 11% increase from the previous week.
The most frequent issues reported by consumers include prolonged internet outages, failure to provide promised internet speeds, connection drops, fluctuations, and high ping. Other major grievances involve service records being closed without resolution, difficulty reaching customer service, insufficient fiber infrastructure, installation delays, incorrect billing, and disputes regarding contract cancellations and termination fees.
