Interpol red notices remain unexecuted for Isaac and Solomou murder suspects

An investigation has revealed that arrest warrants remain unexecuted for the individuals suspected of the murders of Tassos Isaac and Solomos Solomou. While Interpol red notices are active for several suspects, European arrest warrants have not been issued.

In the case of Tassos Isaac, eight new arrest warrants were issued by the Famagusta District Court in 2013 following the cancellation of original 1996 warrants for procedural reasons. Suspects include former MIT official Hasim Yilmaz, Grey Wolves leader Mehmet Mustafa Arslan, and former transport minister Erhan Arikli. All eight individuals are subject to Interpol red notices that are renewed every five years.

Regarding the murder of Solomos Solomou, five arrest warrants were initially issued, but Interpol red notices were only granted for two suspects: former agriculture minister Kenan Akin and former special forces commander Erdal Hajiali Emanet. Three other requests were rejected by Interpol due to a lack of convincing testimony. Despite the existence of active red notices and European warrants in some instances, the perpetrators remain at large.
