Interpol-wanted Georgian national arrested on A1 motorway

A Georgian citizen wanted internationally by Interpol was arrested on the A1 motorway in Italy after attempting to use a false identity during a routine document check. The arrest was carried out by the Frosinone State Police during surveillance operations.

Upon discovering the discrepancies in the individual's identification, authorities confirmed he was subject to three active search notices, including two within the Schengen Area and one issued by Interpol. During a search of the vehicle, police also seized a telescopic metal baton and a folding knife.

The individual has been placed at the disposal of the President of the Court of Appeal in Rome, who will oversee the extradition proceedings.
