Interporto Pordenone approves new public-private company for terminal management
The shareholders of Interporto – Centro Ingrosso di Pordenone Spa have officially approved the creation of a mixed public-private company, referred to as Pordenone Rail Hub Srl, to manage its intermodal terminal. This decision follows a favorable opinion from the Court of Auditors and marks a transition toward a new operational model for the logistics infrastructure.
Under the approved plan, the new company will be composed of 40% public ownership by the Interporto and 60% by a private industrial partner to be selected through a public tender. While the private partner will hold the majority stake and manage operations for a 12-year term, the physical assets—including tracks, yards, and equipment—will remain the property of the Interporto.
The initiative aims to enhance rail freight transport and logistics efficiency, with goals to increase train frequency from eight to 15 per week. The upcoming public tender will seek a partner with industrial expertise and investment capacity, potentially a multimodal transport operator or a railway company, to manage intermodal train-to-road and port services.
