Interstate 10 construction causes closures in Lake Charles
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced upcoming construction-related disruptions on Interstate 10 in Southwest Louisiana. Starting Monday, October 26, 2026, the westbound entrance ramp at the PPG Drive exit (Exit 26) will close temporarily. This closure is expected to last until February 2027 to allow for the construction of a new permanent roadway.
Additionally, the westbound I-10 Bridge will continue to undergo overnight closures from Sunday through Thursday. Between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., one right lane will be closed, and from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., the bridge will be completely closed to westbound traffic. During full bridge closures, motorists are advised to use detours via Lakeshore Drive, eastbound I-10, and I-210 West.
