Intesa Sanpaolo proposes technological hub and commercial office for Siena

Intesa Sanpaolo is attempting to reassure the Siena region regarding its takeover bid for Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS). Tito Nocentini, Intesa Sanpaolo's regional director for Tuscany and Umbria, stated that the integration could lead to the creation of a specialized technological hub in Siena, leveraging the local university ecosystem to foster qualified employment.

Nocentini also announced plans for a new commercial directorate and the establishment of a secondary headquarters for some of the group's central structures in the city. He emphasized that the group intends to respect the identity of MPS, including its name and historical locations.

While these promises aim to mitigate local concerns, observers note that the details regarding specific timelines, job numbers for local workers, and the exact functions of the proposed offices remain undefined. The proposal comes ahead of the MPS assembly scheduled for October 29.
