Inti-Illimani recognized by Treccani and releases new live album

The Chilean musical group Inti-Illimani has been officially recognized by Treccani, with their work included in the new Encyclopedia of Contemporary Music. This honor coincides with the 50th anniversary of the publication of ‘El pueblo unido jamás será vencido’ in Italy, a song that became a global symbol of resistance and freedom.

The recognition follows the group's long history, including their period of exile in Europe following the 1973 coup in Chile. The group is currently in Rome for a performance at Parco Schuster.

In addition to this institutional recognition, Inti-Illimani Histórico has released a new live vinyl album titled ‘Un día u otro, todos seremos felices’. Recorded at the Teatro Municipal de Viña del Mar, the album serves as an anthology of the group's vast repertoire, featuring compositions by members such as Horacio Salinas, José Seves, and Horacio Durán. The project aims to revisit essential melodies from their musical heritage.
