Influencer Virginia Fonseca has publicly discussed using intimate laser treatments to address urinary leakage following three pregnancies. The procedure has sparked interest in how the technology functions for both aesthetic and functional gynecological purposes.

Gynecologist Fernanda Nassar, a specialist in intimate aesthetics and founder of Clínica La Femme in São Paulo, explains that the laser uses controlled energy to stimulate tissue response and collagen production. The treatment can be applied internally to the vaginal mucosa to address dryness, discomfort, or loss of elasticity, or externally to the vulva to improve skin texture and address sagging.

Nassar emphasizes that there is no single protocol, as the intensity and number of sessions depend on the individual patient's needs. Regarding urinary incontinence, she notes that the cause—which may include pelvic floor weakness or changes from childbirth—must be investigated before selecting a specific laser technique.
