INTRANT impounds vehicles in Ciudad Juan Bosch
The National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (INTRANT), in coordination with DIGESETT, impounded six vehicles during enforcement operations in Ciudad Juan Bosch, Santo Domingo Este.
Five of the vehicles were being operated by Haitian citizens without driver's licenses, while the sixth was driven by a Dominican national whose license had been expired for over a year. The operations targeted irregularities regarding the documentation required to operate transport services.
Infractors face fines ranging from one to five minimum wages, between RD$10,000 and RD$50,000. The vehicles are being held at the INTRANT headquarters. To reclaim vehicles driven by undocumented foreigners, owners must be accompanied by a Dominican driver holding a valid license. The agency emphasized that compliance with Law 63-17 is mandatory for all drivers regardless of nationality to ensure road safety.
