AI investment funds launch in Canada and UK

Major artificial intelligence investment funds have launched in Canada and the United Kingdom to support AI scale-ups and growth-stage companies.

Radical Ventures has announced the first close of its Radical Breakouts Fund with over US$1 billion in commitments. Described as potentially the largest venture capital fund in Canadian history, the fund targets AI companies with high growth potential. The initiative is backed by major Canadian institutions, including TD Bank and BMO, to provide the capital necessary to scale domestic companies into global competitors.

Simultaneously, Intrepid Growth Partners has launched its inaugural $525 million fund. Founded by Mark Machin, Mark Shulgan, and Ajay Agrawal, the firm focuses on AI companies with demonstrated commercial traction. Intrepid maintains a strategic focus on the Canada-UK corridor, utilizing offices in Toronto and London to back businesses that aim to transform established industries through artificial intelligence.
