Intuitive Surgical reports third-quarter revenue growth despite lowered forecast
Intuitive Surgical reported third-quarter revenue of $3.05 billion, exceeding analyst estimates of $2.91 billion. Adjusted profit for the quarter reached $3 per diluted share, surpassing the expected $2.64.
Despite the revenue beat, the company tightened its 2026 forecast for worldwide da Vinci procedure growth, now aiming for the midpoint of a 14% to 15% range, down from a previous range of 13.5% to 15.5%. While global procedure volume grew by approximately 14%, US-based growth was recorded at 10%, whereas growth outside the US reached 20%.
System sales rose 30% to $769 million, driven largely by the placement of 546 da Vinci robots, including 315 units of the new da Vinci 5 generation. The company's installed base grew by 12% year-over-year to 12,094 systems. To broaden access and reduce costs, Intuitive plans to roll out an Extended Use Program, starting in the US pending regulatory approval.
