Intuitive Surgical shares rise amid clinical data and Q2 growth
Intuitive Surgical (ISRG) shares rose 2.30 percent to 414.50 USD on September 28, 2026. The company, a leader in robotic-assisted surgery, recently released a meta-analysis regarding its da Vinci platform. The study, which examined over 14 million procedures across 13 benign conditions, indicated that da Vinci procedures were associated with a 54 percent lower probability of conversion to open surgery and approximately four hours shorter hospital stays compared to laparoscopic methods.
Financial data from Q2 2026 shows the company's revenue grew 19 percent year-over-year to 2.89 billion USD, with recurring revenue making up 85 percent of the total. While international da Vinci procedures increased by 20 percent, growth for da Vinci procedures in the United States slowed to 12 percent. Long-term growth is expected to be driven by the upgrade cycle to the da Vinci 5 system and the expansion of the Ion platform for lung diagnostics.
