Invalidovna to undergo 2.15 billion CZK reconstruction
The Invalidovna complex in Prague is hosting its final public opening before beginning a major three-year reconstruction project. The event includes historical demonstrations by soldiers in period uniforms and guided tours of the historic interiors.
The upcoming renovation represents the largest investment in the history of the National Heritage Institute, with planned costs of 2.15 billion CZK including VAT. The project involves the reconstruction of the historic building, the construction of a new facility, and the landscaping of the gardens.
Upon completion, expected between late 2029 and 2030, the site is intended to serve as a cultural and social center. Approximately 80 percent of the historic building will be accessible to the public, featuring two permanent exhibitions, galleries, a visitor center, a cafe, and a multifunctional hall for 170 people.
