Inversiones Calpe installs bollards at Playa Encuentro following court ruling
Inversiones Calpe, S. R. L., a company represented by American investor Lance B. Lundberg, has begun installing bollards on its private property at Playa Encuentro in Cabarete, Puerto Plata, to comply with judicial rulings.
The company stated that the measures are intended to protect private property and do not block public access to the beach, which remains available via established public routes. According to the company, the installation follows a ruling by the Fifth Chamber of the Administrative Superior Court (TSA) issued on April 30, 2025. The court ordered authorities to allow the owners to fence the specific plot without obstacles and demanded an end to intrusions on the private land.
In addition to the bollards, Inversiones Calpe reported that it has prepared areas of its land for public parking and provided facilities such as bathrooms, showers, and security services. The company noted that these improvements aim to organize entry, prevent vehicle circulation in sensitive areas, and protect the natural conditions of the beach. The Supreme Court of Justice previously declared appeals from the Ministries of Tourism and Environment inadmissible regarding this matter.
